Movie Review: Charlotte’s Web

Lazy movie reviewer day

I’ve always wanted to read the book but never really got the opportunity (lazy) so anyway when I heard the movie was coming out, I was like ‘yay!’. Finally I can find out what’s the story about.

I was under the impression that it was similar to Animal Farm, though I’ve never read that (when’s the Animal Farm movie coming out?). You see both of the books’ protagonist is a pig. Albeit very different personalities.

I must say, a very touching movie indeed. Especially I almost shed a tear. Almost.

What have they done to Archie?!

The first of the “new look” Archie and company will appear in May’s Betty and Veronica Double Digest #151, in “Bad Boy Trouble” written by Melanie J. Morgan. In addition to the look, the stories themselves will change format, switching from short tales to fuller-length stories. As such the digests will contain four stories, spanning issues #151-#154 which will run 25 pages each, when fully told.

Movie Review: Night at the Museum

Lazy movie reviewer day

“Hey go watch Night at the Museum!”

“Is it released already? Ben Stiller’s in it right?”

“Ya, it’s very nice..”

“Was the movie stupid? I think all movies with Ben Stiller in it are stupid.”

Blah.

The above passages may contain spoilers.

How to pass your Class 3 Driving Practical Test?

Michael Schumacher

So you’ve endured the 30+ pointless number of lessons, driving instructors with severe case of PMS and an excruciating 3 months wait for a (2 hour?) driving practical test. Now the test’s tomorrow, you just finished your last revision lesson, you feel ready? Or are you?

Here are a couple of tips I thought that might be useful;

  1. You know you can drive, in fact you drive so well, even Michael Schumacher comes all the way over just to see you drive.

    But for some reason, when it comes to the actual driving test, you feel totally helpless, you wish you were at the neighbour Zone-X playing Daytona and somehow it feels impossible to calm yourself down.

    The thing is, the more panicky you are, the more likely you are to actually commit a mistake. Tell yourself to relax, focus on your driving and remain calm. Follow the tester’s instructions but don’t mind his head shaking and what’s not. You’ll do fine.

  2. The attire. Nothing says more than wearing a Pikachu singlet and slippers. Picture this;

    Goth Nerd

Who do you think will have a higher chance of passing his driving practical test?

Addendum: Okay, none of the tips work. I fucking flunked it. Totally. KNNCCB.

Death Note: The Last Name movie trailer

28 December 2006, mark this date on your calendar. Scheduled release date of the second Death Note movie, slightly just 2 months after the first one, which left the viewers on a cliffhanger.

Initially I felt that the actors choosen for the movie looked in no way like their manga counterparts, however from this picture, the resemblances is obviously there. Besides L’s hair.

This second offering will introduce us to Misa Misa, the second Kira (?!) played by Toda Erika. Who will emerge victorious? L or Kira? :o

Even L agrees. :D

Stills, filming scenes movie photos and links after the jump.

Singapore Family Business Conference 2007

Can Asian businesses go beyond the 3rd generation?

If you’re asking yourself that question, then it will do you good to sign up for the Singapore Family Business Conference 2007.

This conference is organized by a group of final year students from the Diploma in Business Studies (Entrepreneurship), School of Business & Accountancy, Ngee Ann Polytechnic.

The event promises to be a lively discussion of family business issues from the perspective of different generations.

Several prominent figures who will be speaking at the conference include Mr. Richard Eu (Group CEO of Eu Yan Sang), Mr. Jerry Lim (Senior Business Development Manager of Jack’s Place), Mr. Adrin Loi (Executive Chairman of Ya Kun) and few others.

They will be covering a gamut of topics during this 3 hours conference;

  • Building synergies beyond generations
  • Successful stories and challenges of family business
  • 3rd generations taking over the business
  • Challenging youths’ views on family businesses

It’s always nice to hear success stories but I’m hoping to hear them share some of their ‘failure stories’.

The conference will be held at Ngee Ann Polytechnic’s Convention Centre on 6th January 2007 from 9.30am.

Admission is free and refreshments will be provided. :D

You can find more information and sign up at their website.
